The island tourism season typically starts in early October and ends at the beginning of May. The monsoon weather hits Socotra from June to mid-September. We usually don’t operate tours during this time.

The best time to visit according to seasonal months

  • October
    • Weather: Mostly sunny temperature between 25c to 33c
    • Special activities: Suitable for Diving and Fishing
    • Note: Strong winds occur in some coastal areas around early October, making overnight camping unpleasant.
  • November
    • Weather: Mostly sunny temperature between 25c to 33c
    • Special activities: Suitable for Diving, Fishing, and Hiking.
    • Note: The weather can get cloudy in some parts of the island, making it an excellent time for those who love hiking or swimming in cold water.
  • December
    • Weather: Rainy and cloudy, temperature between 20c to 29c
    • Special activities: Swimming and Hiking.
    • Note: Rain is expected in some parts of the island, especially the central region, making it an excellent time for those who love rainy weather.
  • January 
    • Weather: Mostly cloudy temperature between 18c to 29c
    • Special activities: Swimming and Hiking.
    • Note: Rain is expected in some parts of the island, making it an excellent time for those who love rainy weather and the greenery scene. 
  • February 
    • Weather: Mostly sunny temperature between 25c to 31c
    • Special activities: Fishing and Hiking.
    • Note: The weather can get cloudy in some parts of the island, making it an excellent time for those who love hiking or swimming in cold water and enjoy the greenery scene. 
  • March 
    • Weather: Mostly sunny temperature between 27c to 35c
    • Special activities: Suitable for Diving, Fishing and Hiking.
    • Note: The water is calm and clear, perfect for snorkelling, diving, and other water activities.
  • April
    • Weather: Sunny temperature between 29c to 37c
    • Special activities: Suitable for Diving and fishing.
    • Note: The water is calm and clear, perfect for snorkelling, diving, and other water activities.
