The wait is over! Socotra’s much-anticipated tourism season officially opened in early October 2025. We at Hellosocotra are thrilled to welcome our first group of international adventurers. The island is back in business, and the initial reports are in: the weather is wonderful, and the nature is as stunning as ever.
We recently hosted a wonderfully diverse group of explorers, with guests arriving from Canada, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, and China. It was a true mix of cultures, all united by a shared curiosity for this remote and unique part of the world.
A Perfect Start to the Season
From the moment they arrived, our guests enjoyed perfect conditions. The weather was fantastic, making it easy to explore Socotra’s most iconic and breathtaking sights. Clear skies and comfortable temperatures made trekking through the Ferhmine forest in Hagghier Mountains seamless, and relaxing on the pristine white sands of beaches like Qalansiya and Shuoa’b was an absolute pleasure.
The real highlight, of course, was the island’s unmatched natural beauty. Our guests spent their days amazed by the Dragon’s Blood Trees, a species found nowhere else on earth. These otherworldly silhouettes filled the landscape. They admired the unique plants and animals, swam in the crystal-clear waters, and explored the island’s dramatic coastlines and deep wadis.
Memories Made and Adventures Had
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Every guest left with a collection of unforgettable photos and, more importantly, many cherished memories. Whether it was watching the sunset from the Dixam Plateau, swimming in the freshwater pools of Wadi Dirhur, or enjoying the warm hospitality of the local Socotri people, everyone agreed they had a truly great time.
This successful first tour sets a wonderful tone for the months ahead. It clearly shows that Socotra is a top-tier destination for travellers seeking a unique, nature-focused experience away from the crowds.
