In November 2022, we had the privilege of welcoming Robson Jesus in Socotra, a remarkable individual from Brazil. His mission? To become the first black man to set foot in every country on the planet.
Yemen was his country number 75. Unfortunately, due to the political unrest in Yemen, visiting the mainland was challenging. However, this led Robson to discover the unique beauty of Socotra. A decision that we, and he, would never regret. He even managed to get a Yemen entry stamped on his passport, and we had the honour of certifying his visit on the Guinness World Record papers.
Although his English was limited at that time, Robson was a fun and loving person. He was always inquisitive and cheerful, with a smile that could light up a room. But what truly connected us was his love for music and dancing, a shared passion.
He was very impressed by the natural beauty of Socotra, especially the beaches in Socotra; as someone coming from Brazil, we were so excited to hear that he loved our beaches more than any of the many beaches he visited during his 75 countries visits so far.
